Moodle and other Open Source LMS Systems

Link: http://moodle.org/download/modules/

open source LMS tools should not be overlooked. Some people who have used Blackboard and WebCT find Moodle to be superior to both. By the way, it now includes synchronous chat tools. It is also supported by a world wide community of developers and end-users. Features are often added in response to the input received by this community. Another wonderful tool is FLE3 (http://fle3.uiah.fi). It is used specifically for collaborative learning and has some powerful design features such as the ability to categorize discussion posts and some support for annotation.
